Tipped off by the semantics blog, you may want to check out this link to a report on Communicating on Forbes website. It includes very interesting things on the evolution of language, non-verbal communication, communication and technology, animal communication, and many more. Some of the famous names are: Carl Zimmer "Can chimps talk?", Jane Goodall "On why words hurt", Steven Pinker "On why we have language", and Noam Chomsky "On the spontaneous invention of language".
Mai
You beat me to it, Mai. I was just about to send a message about this too. I had some trouble making it work at first. I think my shockwave and/or flash wasn't working properly. Coincidentally, we looked at Nicaraguan Sign Language in class on Monday. Chomsky mentions this in the printed interview excerpt. Anyway, this is a really good resource and all of the content is free with no need to register or anything.
